Dr Vanessa Ross

Dr Vanessa Ross graduated from the Australian National University Medical School in 2008. She subsequently completed her internship and residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital prior to embarking on specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. Vanessa completed a 3 year subspecialty fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (CREI) as well as a two year AGES accredited fellowship in advanced endoscopic surgery. She is one of two gynaecologists in Australia to complete dual subspecialty training. Vanessa has also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science degree as well as a Masters in Reproductive Medicine. 

Vanessa offers private consulting at Epworth Freemasons in East Melbourne. She also holds a public appointment in the Reproductive Services Unit at the Royal Women’s Hospital, where she is training junior doctors in reproductive medicine and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Vanessa is a dedicated researcher and has been appointed as a Clinical Senior Research Fellow for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne.

Vanessa is passionate about oncofertility and is committed to improving the fertility outcomes of young women and men following cancer treatment. She is actively involved in research in this field and provides specialist care in the Fertility Preservation Service at Melbourne IVF and the Royal Women’s Hospital. Vanessa also has a special interest in minimally invasive approaches to reproductive surgery and is conducting large multi-site trials aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment and fertility outcomes of women with endometriosis.

Vanessa’s special interest areas are fertility preservation, ovarian tissue freezing, endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, andrology, egg freezing and reproductive surgery.
