Dr Avelyn Wong is currently completing Fellowship training at Melbourne IVF and is not available for patient consultations at this time.

Dr Avelyn Wong is a Gynaecologist, Fertility Specialist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon, recognised for her compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.

Avelyn provides comprehensive gynaecological and fertility services for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids and other reproductive health concerns, as well as those planning a pregnancy or exploring their fertility. Recognising that these issues can overlap, she takes a holistic and personalised approach — addressing both symptoms and goals in tandem.

Avelyn supports patients throughout their treatment journey. With her calm, empathetic manner and thoughtful communication, she creates a space to truly understand her patient’s experiences, concerns and goals. Every clinical encounter is seen as an opportunity to tailor care and strive for the best possible outcome.

After completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at Monash University, Avelyn undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital in Melbourne. She went on to complete an advanced laparoscopic fellowship through the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES), positioning her at the forefront of minimally invasive gynaecological surgery in Australia.

In addition to her fertility work with Melbourne IVF, Avelyn holds public consultant positions at both the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women — two of Melbourne’s leading tertiary women’s hospitals. She is actively involved in teaching future specialists and is a lead researcher in several clinical trials, presenting her work at national and international conferences.

When not working, Avelyn’s usually on the hunt for Melbourne’s best eats, chasing live music, or being outnumbered in the park by her two energetic kids and her equally excitable golden retriever.
