John Stevens is the Director of ART Services for Victoria. He has contributed significantly to the field of Reproductive Medicine, pioneering research in human assisted conception, and is widely published.
After completing his degree in Medical Technology in the United States, John worked as an embryologist at the Colorado Centre for Reproductive Medicine and became IVF Laboratory Manager in the year 2000.
During the 25 years that John worked in and managed the IVF lab in Denver, he successfully led the world-renowned clinical laboratory at the Colorado Centre for Reproductive Medicine with his contribution helping evolve the clinic into one of the most successful IVF clinics in the world. Under John’s supervision, the Clinical IVF Laboratory at CCRM was a leader in the United States, routinely offering Day 5 Blastocyst transfers, Pre-implantation Genetic Screening and Vitrification of human eggs and embryos.
In 2017, John was appointed Director of IVF Laboratories at Melbourne IVF, working closely with Scientific Director Professor David Gardner. As a team, John and Dr. Gardner will lead the Laboratory Scientists with plans to advance technology and patient care at Melbourne IVF.
