COVID-19 Update: Testing requirements prior to procedures at East Melbourne Specialist Day Hospital

Effective Monday, 30 August 2021 all patients having a scheduled procedure or surgery at the East Melbourne Specialist Day Hospital will be required to have a negative result for COVID-19 prior to their procedure or surgery.

Our safety protocols will require you to have a PCR nasopharyngeal swab 48-72 hours prior to procedure and remain in isolation until your scheduled procedure.

Your nursing team will advise you of this requirement once the date of your procedure is known and provide you with the necessary referral and testing information (including testing locations).
