Melbourne IVF was born out of the Reproductive Biology Unit (now known as Reproductive Services) at the Royal Women’s Hospital and was founded in 1989.  Melbourne IVF and Reproductive Services are sister units and treat the same patient group, however Reproductive Services also treats patients on a public list.  

Melbourne IVF has attracted some of the country’s leading Fertility Specialists and each and every specialist prides themselves on delivering a model of care dedicated to providing the highest level of personalised treatment available.  Melbourne IVF Fertility Specialists play an integral role in their patient’s care each step of the way, and almost always perform all of their patient’s procedures including the monitoring ultrasound scans, egg collection and embryo transfer procedures.

Originally trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, most Melbourne IVF Fertility Specialists have dedicated their practice solely to the area of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  Many are recognised both nationally and internationally for excellence in research and patient outcomes.  Of the 18 Fertility Specialists working with the Melbourne IVF group, almost half are female specialists, offering patients a greater choice to suit their individual needs.  We encourage patients to read the profiles of each of our Fertility Specialists here.
