Advanced Embryo Selection

Advanced Embryo Selection is a new form of PGD that for the first time has the ability to screen of all 24 chromosomes in a developing embryo with results available in 30 hours, allowing selection of the embryo with the best likelihood of pregnancy success.
Advanced Embryo Selection has increased pregnancy rates and is suitable for women who:
  • are aged 38 or more
  • have had 5 or more embryos replaced without success
  • have a history of recurrent miscarriage, or
  • have previously had a chromosomally abnormal pregnancy (e.g. Down syndrome)

Melbourne IVF has the expertise in house in our PGD laboratory to perform Advanced Embryo selection to a very high standard that is recognised around the world, and also performs this test on behalf of other IVF units in Australia and overseas.
