Ethics committee

Providing independent advocacy for our patients

Any institution, such as a university or healthcare company, that conducts or supports biomedical research involving people must, by Federal Government regulation, have an independent Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) that initially approves and then periodically reviews the research. This includes research activities such as clinical trials, the research must be approved by the impartial HREC. This independent body acts as an advocate for the interests of our patients. Federal regulations also have built-in safeguards to protect participants.

Melbourne IVF has all of its research and clinical trials approved, reviewed and monitored by an independent committee, a registered HREC. The HREC oversees compliance and promotes the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical practice in research.

For any inquiries, feedback or any communications directed specifically to the ethics committee, please email the HREC secretariat at:  [email protected]
