Dr Yousif Alyousif

Yousif is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). His special interests include fertility, reproductive endocrinology, minimally invasive surgery, and ultrasound imaging.

Yousif completed his medical degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand, where he also did research in Reproductive Endocrinology and spent his elective at a Fertility clinic in Brisbane. This sparked his interest in the fertility field, and as such has undertaken further training and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology from the University of Otago, and a Masters of Reproductive Medicine with Excellence from the University of New South Wales.

Currently, Yousif is completing his sub-specialisation to obtain CREI (Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility), the highest training level for Fertility in Australasia. This is done alongside Dr Fleur Cattrall, Medical Director at Melbourne IVF.

Yousif is known for his genuine approach and compassionate care towards his patients. His patients describe him as a doctor who truly listens and makes them feel at ease.

Yousif enjoys teaching medical students and was even voted as the best clinical teacher multiple times. Yousif presented his research at several regional and international conferences. In 2019, he was awarded the Harvey Carey Memorial Prize – for the best original research paper presented orally at the RANZCOG ASM in New Zealand.

Outside of work, Yousif enjoys exploring what Melbourne has to offer with his wife and two children. He is always on the lookout for a good coffee recommendation!
