Patient Support

Patient Support

The counsellors at Melbourne IVF are professionals trained and experienced in helping patients deal with the stress and emotions involved in trying to achieve a pregnancy, or in dealing with other fertility related issues. They can help couples or individuals explore better ways of coping with anxiety or stress, and provide support and understanding with relationship difficulties - a common problem with couples experiencing infertility.

Counselling can help with considering medical options available, as well as the many social and emotional issues that may arise – often unexpectedly. It is not unusual for relationships to become strained throughout this time, and for there to be difficulties talking with friends and family.

Many patients have felt reassured and strengthened from the professional support provided by the Melbourne counselling team, who are available in many capacities for you.

As part of the support on offer, patients have the opportunity to access guidance and advice through:

  • supportive counselling;
  • genetic counselling;
  • social and support groups;
  • therapeutic workshops;
  • online resources.
